To help data centers go online quickly, Harting took the lead in launching the connector-based rack power distributor (rPDU) and was invited to write the Power Shelf power input connector specification for the Open Compute Project (OCP).
Benefits:
Shorten time to market by eliminating hardwired power distribution units (PDUs).
Connecting the input power harness to the Power Shelf eliminates the need for a gPDU, thereby eliminating potential points of failure and improving installation efficiency.
This universal design can be used around the world, helping to achieve supply chain efficiencies.
The input connector can also be reused when upgrading IT racks, making replacement faster, reducing costs and protecting the environment.
